MODEL OF GENERAL CRITERIA

The second phase consists in establishing a model of general criteria and characteristics and differences between the four different regions with a technical and historical basis with respect for the local countryside and the historical identity of the buildings. The object of the study is the analysis of the rural constructions seen from the typological condition. This involves gathering information from the buildings in each area together with a global statistical analysis that will lead us to scientific conclusions regarding the typological reality of each area, and their posterior comparison. In order to carry out the typological study of the farmhouse, the typology is understood as a profound structure that organises the architectural result. It essentially consists in a classification that manages to reduce the many shaped and diverse phenomenal reality, to a possibly finite logical inventory in a specific historical moment with minimum number of differing traits.

The catalogue is based essentially on the study and assessment of the architectural heritage in all its variants, from large edifications of considerable importance to the most plain of constructions. These are often threatened with being demolished or with ruthless restoration and are known as domestic architecture. The final aim is to line up a series of objective pieces of knowledge regarding the entity and the patrimonial value of the buildings and their elements.
